Posted: 25 Jul 2016 09:03 PM PDT The one in better condition, the number of miles does not really give much indication (neither have done the average annual mileage of 4,000), look for service history for both. You will be paying several thousand so it is worth getting a mechanic to look at either before making the final decision. Or you can choose the one which stirs your loins. |
Question: No running tail lights on 83 cb550? Posted: 25 Jul 2016 07:20 PM PDT Test the ignition switch. Follow the ignition switch wires to where they plug into the wire harness. Leave it connected. Test at the BROWN wire with the key on. Park position = battery voltage Run position = battery voltage If either test has no battery voltage, replace the switch. Probability - the brake light is always on. |

Question: Does bad oil make it harder to start a motorcycle? Posted: 25 Jul 2016 04:40 PM PDT So I purchased a SSR 125cc (pit bike) and I performed the break in idle and took it out twice and shifted through the gears gently. Abot two weeks later... Today it was really giving me a hard time starting it, all I heard was a faint rumble. So I ve adjusted the carb and it looks like it helped since I got it running for a few mins. But now I ve tried starting it again, but the kick starter is very unsmooth it gets stuck when I try to push it so I just rest my leg on it until it eases through but by then I don t have enough room to give it enough kick. And it just keeps repeating, I can t get a smooth kick. I ve given the bike fresh gas, but haven t changed the oil yet. Could it be a factor? I have another pit bike that starts on the first kick (but I ve ridden it longer) and I ve noticed it started to smoothly start when I changed the oil.. So does oil have anything to do with it? |
