Proximity to continental as opposed to maritime, geography.

Inland waterways = navigable inland rivers, canals, broads and lakes.

Inshore = coastal and estuary waters of sea or ocean and near to shore.

Offshore = sea or ocean including continental shelf and far from shore.

Mid ocean = far and remote from any continental features or landmasses.

Common examples of use are 'inshore fishing vessel' (the type you might see hauled up on the beach, etc.) And 'offshore fishing vessel' (deep-water trawlers.)

Question: I have a 1999 mercury outboard 8.0 horse motor and when it runs it leaks coffe color oil out of the lower unit and exhaust why's that?
