Question: I need a guy's opinion on my car? Posted: 28 Jan 2016 02:26 PM PST Don't fix it then sell it. You wont get the $4,000 back... Only fix it if you intend to keep it. Then the $4,000 get you 4 more years of driving, and might be money well spent. Because it's got an engine knock it will be hard to sell privately, or it will come back to bite you when the buyer finds out you sold then a lemon. Personally I'd go and talk to some decent car dealers and see what they can offer. |

Question: If I buy a car from an individue how could I bring the car home? Posted: 28 Jan 2016 12:51 PM PST If you can walk there or take a bus/train/taxi, you can just drive it home. Alternatively, have a buddy drive you there and you drive the car back. This assumes the car is running. If it's not, you'll have to just tow it. |
Question: Car loan and boyfriend? Posted: 28 Jan 2016 12:34 PM PST Here's the deal: First, cosigning for anyone other than a spouse is a BAD idea. He's threatening to break up now. What do you think could happen later? Second, they're NOT putting anyone on the title who is not on the loan. Third, you can't just "put the loan in his name" or "take your name off of the loan", that's NOT how it works. He would have to obtain a loan for the amount owed on the vehicle, thereby paying off your loan in full. He would basically have to buy the vehicle from you. If he can't get a loan now, why do you think he can get one later? Last, why do you think he has bad credit now? Because he doesn't pay his bills. What do you think he'll do in a month or two? "Uh, baby, can you get the car payment this month? I'll pay you back". No, he won't. Something else you need to consider: He asking you to buy a car for him, in your name, with him as the primary owner. This is known as a "straw purchase", and it is illegal. The insurance will have to be in your name, as he would have no "vested interest" in the vehicle. Tags are in your name as well. Doing this will almost ensure failure, and it will ruin your credit. If he can't do it on his own, then that's his own fault. Do NOT get this car... |
