Question: Top inexpenisve car modifications for beginner? Posted: 24 Jan 2016 04:19 PM PST Because of where the performance bottlenecks are in your car, the sequence of inexpensive modifications goes like this 1) K&N replacement air filter (30-50 dollars) 2) Cold Air Intake System (about 300 dollars) 3) Catback exhaust system (about 300 + 150 installation) 4) Exhaust headers (thousands) This sequence is important because initially the car's performance is restricted by the air it takes into the engine. Even if you spend 400-500 on #3 above without doing 1 or 2, you will notice 0 performance gain. The bottleneck will still be on the air intake. Once you do 1 and 2 however, the exhaust starts restricting the performance of the car which is the reason you have to move that way. So regardless of your budget, this is the sequence. Fortunately for you, step 1 happens to be in your budget. |
