Posted: 20 Nov 2016 04:53 AM PST Model numbers? Planet Audio amps tend to be wildly over-rated, especially if you're quoting "peak" power ratings instead of RMS. The size of the fuses built into the amps will give you much more useful information than the manufacturer's power ratings in this case. |

Question: What Amp board to buy? Posted: 19 Nov 2016 07:09 PM PST Please bare with me, I've never worked with speakers before so this is new to me. I wanted to know how to pick an amplifier board for my project. I have four 4ohm speakers and one 8ohm. Should this board do the job? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01BTJZFY6/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479611231&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=amp+board&dpPl=1&dpID=51UCbuDxMrL&ref=plSrch If not how would I pick one that is suitable for what I have? Thank you in advance! |
Posted: 19 Nov 2016 04:29 PM PST Well, how is everything set and wired up? Make sure nothing is wired out of phase. If you have a sub, make sure the LPF on the amp is set around 80hz. If you have a full range amp running the mids and highs, make sure everything is set properly. If you're running the mids and highs off the head unit, make sure the settings on the head unit is set properly. Last of all, set the bass boost at zero. They do nothing but cause distortion and makes your amp run hotter. |
