Question: Do I need snow chains on my tires.? Posted: 16 Nov 2016 07:12 PM PST Don't buy chains. In North Carolina, in a normal year, you'd have to get up into the hills to have any chance of seeing snow. Stay on the main roads if you do; they should be clear enough as long as you are not driving in an active snowstorm. DO NOT DRIVE IN AN ACTIVE SNOWSTORM! It's not a matter of chains, or four-wheel-drive. Snow and ice driving is a skill you do not have. Equipment won't give you the skill. If the snow is falling, leave the car alone, and build a snowman in the motel parking lot. :-) |

Question: Yield to right turn on solid green light? Posted: 16 Nov 2016 04:10 PM PST In countries where we drive on the right (USA, Canada, France, etc.), traffic turning left without an arrow must yield to traffic that has a green light; it is not alright for traffic turning left to go first. In countries where we drive on the left (UK, Japan, etc.), things are different, and generally the reverse. |
Question: Can I practice driving at night in an empty parking lot with one of my parents? Posted: 16 Nov 2016 01:50 PM PST It will be fine. You will be on private property though, and can be harassed for trespassing, or asked to leave by the owner, but unless you are drag racing, or tearing stuff up nobody is going to care. There are more important things for people to do than harass some kid and his dad practice driving! |

Question: Why do people tailgate so much? Posted: 16 Nov 2016 05:02 AM PST There's all kinds of gators in this world. You got your alli-gator and your croca-gator, and away down in the deepest, darkest depths of the big swamp you got the terrible hippo-gator, but the most dageroustest kind of gator anywheres is the TAIL - gator. I sympathize with you, bro. I have the same problem, but just remember in most states the moron who rear-ends another driver is automatically at fault. |
