Question: Do i have to stop at the"Incoming Traffic Does Not Stop Sign"? Posted: 19 Nov 2016 04:41 PM PST That is a warning that there is a stop sign in your direction but not for opposing traffic. You must stop like a normal stop sign but do not assume the traffic in the other direction will stop. They may turn right in front of you without stopping since they do not have to. There is a sign like that at a freeway entrance near my house. The freeway goes north and south. Traffic going west on a cross street can turn left into the freeway entrance without stopping and traffic going east on the cross street must stop. They don't always notice the "Incoming Traffic Does Not Stop Sign" and many times they have continued after stopping even though I was allowed to turn in front of them without stopping. It is very dangerous. |

Question: Right of way in a roundabout? Posted: 18 Nov 2016 10:58 PM PST What country are you in? In the UK / NZ / Australia you drive on the left side of the road. At a roundabout you give way to any car on your right. Now if 2 cars reach opposite sides of a roundabout, then neither has to give way. More than one car can be on a roundabout at one time, especially if it's a large one. So if you both reach the roundabout at the same time, then you can both proceed and not interfere with each other, even if you are turning. Even if one is actually turning across the path of the other, they are gone before you get there. This of course depends on the size of the thing. Some are basically a flower pot in the middle of the road. Others are great huge things 100 metres across that could have 5 or 6 cars on them at any one time. |
Question: Can't see blind spot while driving even after turning neck deliberately? Posted: 18 Nov 2016 05:29 PM PST Every car has a blind spot, some better, some worse. You don't mention the kind of car that you drive so we have no way of knowing how bad the blind spot is on your vehicle. We also don't know how tall or short you are. Update: That car has good visibility. It's possible that you are misjudging the speed of other cars and reacting too slowly. You look, see road and air, but fail to see cars a few hundred yards back and gaining quickly. You don't need to bend your neck more, you need to develop your situational awareness and develop your driver skills. |
