Question: Does my motorcycle need an engine rebuild? Posted: 04 Oct 2016 11:16 PM PDT I have an single cylinder four stroke SOHC carburetted honda engine. Lately the problem i have been facing is the engine idles very erratically, the bike when idling and on center stand the drive chain jumps a lot. I have tested for carburettor tuning and other carb problems, vacuum leaks, manifolds leaks with no issues. The compression after cranking the engine with WOT was how much it should be, on wet test it increased by 7 PSI which in totality goes a little above recomended by the manual. i could not perform a leakdown test. What could be the issue valves? or the block and piston? It has just 15000 miles on it. 6 years old. it always had timely oil/filter/sparkplug changes etc And the carb slide is not sticking either. |
