AMP HELP, "cutting out"!!?

so i've had this set up for 7 months ans have never had any problems until the other day... i have 2 12" pioneer champion series and a 1000.1 watt kicker zx amp. well the other day it just quit and will only occasionally bump (lower frequencies) but when i turn it up, it goes into protection mode. when it FIRST happened it was a little hot and had a fiery smell to it. what could be my problem? it's very annoying because this setup doesn't have many hours on it AT ALL... and it wasn't cheap.

I am new to hifi so Im not creating my own amp... yet, but I am making an encasement for one and I want a nice vintage meter but what range do I need? I see a DC100MV DC100MA DC200MA ext. Also where do I place it in the circuit? On the output power line? Also is there a way to connect a gauge between the stereo output to the speakers that will move with the pitch of the song? Thanks

I'm trying to find a bluetooth car stereo for a 2001 Dodge Stratus SE Sedan! I used crutchfield.com to see what fits, but, they aren't the same shape as the space for it so I don't know if it'd really fit! I'm getting results like Kenwood KDC-X597 and it's not the same shape! I uploaded a picture of the interior for reference!

4 gauge power & earth cables are recommended for this amp. At the same time you should look into doing the "Big 3 Upgrade" which will allow your alternator to charge your battery easier, make your system louder, stop your lights dimming & avoid burnt out alternator wiring.
