Posted: 24 Jul 2014 04:18 PM PDT I had to be brief, but I can put a longer explanation here. I have a train to Atlanta that arrives in the early evening. The train I need to catch is the next morning. However, the train station closes overnight. I was thinking about hopping a bus to the airport to chill, eat and take a nap as if I were an air traveler on a layover. Would that work? Or does one need a ticket for a flight in order to get to areas where napping is possible? |

Hi, I'm doing my Level 3 qualification in Railway Engineering, I have to provide Key features of the H&S Legislations affecting the rail industry, I have looked everywhere, Can anyone help? |
Question: Barendrecht parijs train without Thalys? Posted: 24 Jul 2014 06:33 AM PDT For this kind of search I prefer the German rail planner, which you can set to 'no ICE' which also does not give Thalys. http://www.bahn.de/p_en/view/index.shtml and click on further search options, (in the area where you enter your travel details. I had to fiddle a bit. You get some results, but it will take quite long. I would not know how to get price information, I have done it when I had a rail pass. https://www.nsinternational.nl/?utm_sour... allows you to select 'no fast trains showing' but do not give the slow alternatives. PS, I am not sure the slow option is cheaper if you can buy a week in advance, |
Question: Ex-Southern Pacific? Posted: 24 Jul 2014 01:40 AM PDT Because we had the sad misfortune to be bought first by Phillip Anschutz of the DRGW, who raped the Southern Pacific of the best assets, then sold the leftovers to the Union Pacific. The Union Pacific immediately did all it could to erase the name Southern Pacific. The SP was a major Class 1 railroad that should have been buying companies instead of being bought. Sadly though, it's management was more interested in securing golden parachute retirement plans for themselves and let the company slide into disrepair. It was a dark day when the Union Pacific bought us. The Southern Pacific deserved a better fate instead of ending up a fallen flag. I miss them as they were a much nicer company to work for.
