The ARK is a good choice, scholars have claimed it to be one of the most seaworthy vessel ever built - remember, cubit is roughly 525mm. The Ark was 300 cubits, its width 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits.

Depends on your definition of a 'moderate' climate. I'm an hour dead south of Vegas right now, along the Colorado River. Noon & it's already over 90, but the humidity is low. We have two months of HOT, which are almost over, then it's not bad. Also lived on the gulf coast of Florida for years, where the temperature doesn't get to HOT, but the humidity will drown you. Then, you also have storms. Up north, along the Great lakes, where I've also lived, summer on the lakes can be beautiful, but the -25 winters are a killer. But, no hurricanes, either. So, as it is said - Nothing is perfect. They all have their pluses & negatives.
