99 Plymouth neon shifting is off . Ideas on what it might be and what I can do?

Okay so..car sat couple months. My mom drove it just fine then two days later, the thing wouldn't shift right. The only way I can drive my car now (automatic btw) is manually shift 1st, 2nd,then drive. I shift from 1st to second round 30 then at 45mph it'll go to drive. If I do this,inbetween shifting it runs smooth. What could this possibly be? I really need my car fixed as my truck is down and in the shop already! Thanks.

She stalls when shifted to Drive and Reverse?</p>    <p>This thing has been sitting for a couple of years before I got it. So far I have had the spark plugs changed out, an ignition kit replaced, a tune up, oil change, busching in the front end replaced, new low/high beam lights. All the fluids are good and fresh, having been just replaced. I went on ahead and put radiator fluid in it today because it was overheating yesterday. Now, while driving it home from auto-zone, it started stalling out. I managed to get it running again and parked it in my drive way. Now whenever I shift into Drive and Reverse, it stalls out. Had a mechanic look at It when I first acquired it, and he had told me the engine was good and so was the transmission.
