Question: How do I fix 2000 Toyota Echo dash lighting after self installation of Pioneer MVH-X370BT? Posted: 08 Sep 2015 07:39 AM PDT I screwed up and need help. I purchased a Pioneer MVH X370 BT radio to install in my 2000 Toyota Echo. I found some online resources and went at it, but was not prepared for wiring changes. With my dash in pieces, I quickly tried to resolve things and obviously left a few things out. There are three wires I did not attach. One comes from the Pioneer radio and has to do with system remote control. I'm pretty sure I do not need to do anything with that (https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index... However, I'm pretty sure that the two wires I didn't do anything with that come from the car do need to be dealt with. From what I can read, I assume the two wires are the "Car Radio Illumination Wire" and the "Car Stereo Dimmer Wire." However those are said to be pink and violet but they are not in my car. One is off-white with a black stripe and the other is . . . I forget right now. If I recall correctly, the wires are I and O according to this diagram: http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Toyot... (both marked "Do Not Use"). I should also note that I clipped the wires and then soldered the connections (badly). I naively hoped that since I had run out of wires then I would be okay. I'm not. Any help would be appreciated. I need my dash light in the dark, and without the warning I know I'm going to leave my lights on and come back to a dead battery. Thanks. |
