Question: Are there any civilian version of UH-60 Black hawk ? Posted: 25 Dec 2015 06:12 AM PST The H-60 designation for the Black Hawk/Sea Hawk is the US military designation. The Black Howks that Sikorsky sold directly to foreign governments as a commercial sale rather than Foreign Military Sale by US Government are known as S-70. Some police and fire departments in the US use S-70s in fire fighting and search and rescue roles. While carried the commercial version of S-70 in its catalog for VIP and oil rig duties, I don't think it sold many of these. An enlarged derivative of S-70 is S-92. It is available in a number of transport and search and rescue configurations. A military variant of S-92 is H-92 in US designation, while the Canadian Navy calls them CH-148 Cyclones. The Marine One presidential helicopter will be called VH-92. |
