Question: Who is at fault in this collision? Posted: 01 Dec 2015 10:43 PM PST I am in the right lane with a red light. There are two, one way lanes where I am going to turn. No one is coming AT ALL. So I make my right turn. I am already in the lane completing my turn. Just as I am about to finish my turn, a car comes up beside me at the last minute, in the lane to my left and collides with my car as I was about to finish my turn. Common sense tells me, I am completing my turn, so let me complete my turn first before you come into the lane beside me. The girl who collided with me claims she was in the left lane across from me making a turn to the lane beside me where I was turning. She says her arrow was green. Claims "I didn't see her". Yet NO ONE WAS TURNING OR COMING AT ALL. I WAS ALREADY IN THE LANE COMPLETING MY TURN, when she comes up full speed in the lane beside me at the very last minute. She was NOT EVEN IN THE LEFT LANE when I made my turn. NO ONE WAS COMING AT ALL. Who is really at fault? |

Question: What child is safer in the front seat of a car? Posted: 01 Dec 2015 05:09 PM PST If there's an airbag you can't turn off, the heaviest/oldest/strongest one. I don't believe there's a significant difference in safety between the positions, given a decent seatbelt, but older airbags can kill small children especially in the rear-facing seats which are recommended for infants. (OK, there's a tiny advantage to the centre back position, especially if it's got a shoulder belt, as the car has to deform more to crush them, and most people are killed in the front of the car because if there's only one passenger they'll generally be in the front. Personally, I think if the driver's continually twisting around to check on an infant in the back, that distracted driving far outweighs any other factors) |
