Question: What does this green trackside American railroad sign mean? Posted: 27 Dec 2015 01:00 AM PST Dan H is correct. That sign means the train is now authorized to resume track speed once the entire train has cleared the sign. Before that the train was traveling at a slower speed due to a permanent speed restriction. If it was a green square then it was a temporary speed restriction that may be removed once repairs to the tracks are made. Could be a few miles long and even as short at 10mph for .10 miles which usually means bad track and ties over a road crossing. Again, entire train must clear the green board before we can resume normal speed. |
Question: Does Via rail actually check ID's? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 05:24 PM PST They can and Do. There is more than One place they can ask for your ID . You really do not want to be put off a train at some other place for non payment of Fare. Curious you need to show Identification to purchase the the Fare. |

Posted: 24 Dec 2015 10:38 AM PST Just like the Plane or Bus sometimes a Train might need to be cancelled for many reasons. It happens less often with the Train because of weather. Sorry in the real world there is no guaranteed will go method of transport you can book for some future date. If you wait until day of travel it may be full and then you also do not get to ride. |
