Question: 2007 corvette won't start Key fob not detected? Posted: 10 Dec 2015 11:07 AM PST A no crank, no start condition with a Driver Information Center (DIC) message that displays "No FOB Detected" can be caused by a low battery state of charge (SOC). The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) will not function if the battery SOC is below 9V. So check it first. If the battery is checked out or after replacement done and the problem persisted: The controller need to be reprogrammed. This is a very common for Vettes in the same era. Dealer is your only option if your local repair shop does not have the latest software available to them. Ask if they do and having the re-programming and access to the latest software. Let me explain to you why the re-programming is needed as my shop has done plenty. "No Fob Detected" message displayed on the DIC when the fob is located somewhere on the driver's seat. The fob reminder warning sound (3 horn honks) is heard when exiting the vehicle with the key fob. This is because the original RCDLR software does not adequately cover the driver's seat and it can also detect the fob when it is slightly outside of the driver's door. The new software will add a new zone to better cover the driver's seat, and it will also add a 2 second delay after the door closes before checking for the fob on the interior. DO NOT replace the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR), there is nothing wrong with it. The re-programming will correct the problem. Question: I have a dodge truck and it wont start? Posted: 10 Dec 2015 10:40 AM PST What year/model of Dodge truck? gas or diesel? Some Dodge models had a problem with not starting due to a bad WCM ...Wireless Control Module...an updated version can fix it but temporarily, just remove the negative battery cable from the battery for 30 seconds or so to reset it and see if it helps. You might have other issues with power not getting to the starter...bad ignition switch, bad Neutral Safety/Transmission Range switch, wiring issues, bad starter/solenoid, blown fuse or bad starter relay, etc.. a shop would need to test for power at the starter S terminal and go from there in diagnosing. |

Question: 2004 Honda Civic. All gauges not working. Rpm mph etc. nothing!? Posted: 10 Dec 2015 10:29 AM PST You'll need to have the fault codes read out on the Gauge Control Module (PCU), ECM, the HVAC and the MICU. A scanner capable of reading into these controllers. Those "Code readers" or the ones at the auto part stores will not work, specially for Chassis code Cxxxx or Body code Bxxxx left alone the U codes.. The sub-model on the Civic determines in getting the right wiring diagram with the right colored wiring ..What's yours? (Hybrid, Dx, Gx, Ex, Hx, Lx, Si or Hatch back?) You can do the "Hard reset" like you said by remove both battery cables and touch the cable's terminal ends together for about 30 minutes (Use one cable lead of the jump start cable set if you prefer to do) and see. But by doing so, the stored fault code(s) if any could be erased and make it harder for any technician to diagnose into the matter. So don't do it or do it AFTER all of the codes are scanned and recorded. All gauges, indicators and dash illumination controlled by the CPU built-in the gauge assembly. The CPU receives the information and signals from the ECM via the multiplex control unit. Any light at all lit up on the dash cluster? I would check the fuses first: Fuse # 2 (15A), Fuse # 3 (10A) and # 10 (7.5A). The fuses number might be differ as the sub-model was not indicate in your description. Make yourself a "Fist" and tap/ bump lightly on top of the IPC (instrument panel cluster) and see if the matter changing, if so, you may have a loose connection behind the dash. When you have the codes read out. Let me know, depend on how many codes or if there is no communication between the scanner and the IPC's CPU or the Multiplex controllers: Most likely, the IPC has to be sent out for repair or replace.
