you try hard, you can do it" speech. They're completely missing the point. Yes, it does suck that you can't take this internship, but unfortunately America would rather spend money blowing up foreign countries than investing into a competent transit system. Since you're in college, I'm assuming you are barely making it. Consider tutoring, entrepreneurship and if you can get one, a job. Then buy a cheap, reliable car outright so your credit doesn't take a hit if any of these multiple income streams falls short during the quarter. You can do this. It's okay to be down and to feel angry, that's normal.
