Question: Who was at fault in car accident? Posted: 28 Aug 2015 10:05 AM PDT Hi, I was just involved in a car accident. It was an uncontrolled interestion (only one stop sign but neither car came that direction. There was high bushes blocking view. I slowed down (to 5-10mph) to check, and didnt see anything out of my limited view. I kept going forward (did not stop due to no stop sign) and was T-boned directly on right passenger door. The cop said neither was at fault due to neither one of us having a stop sign. I dont have collision insurance and so I am wondering if the other car is responsible or not. (I live in FL if that matters) |

Question: Body shop started working on car before insurance issued check, what now? Posted: 28 Aug 2015 09:53 AM PDT My car was damaged by hail so I started a claim. A friend of mine referred me to a shop. The date and location of the appraisal were too far and inconvenient for me so I had the car picked up at my house and the rental down the street from me. The shop had the car taken to the inspection a day after then a few days later I get a call from the insurance that during the inspection, the appraiser and manager found big dents and dents not correlating to hail. So I m thinking the insurance is being a typical insurance company postponing and avoiding payment so I tell them will go take pics of car. The problem is the body shop is being fishy and won t let me see the car so when I finally see it it s at night so I can t see much. One thing I do see is the front, rear bumpers and lights off so it can t be driven. Also there are no big dents on it so I don t know what the he ll the insurance is saying. So we go back and forth for awhile and I go to see the car again to take pictures except the second time i go see the car in the daytime it is sanded down and patched up!! The body shop is telling me they had the green light while the insurance is saying they still had to send a forensic inspector to see the car and I m in the middle pulling my hair out. In the meantime my free rental is expiring while these bastards are milking it. What can I/should I do?? |

Posted: 28 Aug 2015 08:48 AM PDT A serious car accident is one where fluids start leaking from the car(whether its fuel, oil, or coolant), air bags deployed, parts scattered all over the road, frame is bent etc. Sometimes broken glass would be one of the results of the crash, so it really depends. |
