Question: How much would a "used" leather motorcycle jacket cost? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 10:16 PM PDT I recently bought an Alpinestar Jaw White leather jacket from a friend who is selling all of this motorcycle gears and of course the bike as well. But me being a total beginner (did study into fitting, but I guess not enough), the size of the jacket was too big for me. He would not buy back the jacket, so I have been trying to resell the jacket through Craigslist or Ebay, but wasn't too sure what the pricing would be. is it retailed for about $475 + tax for a new jacket, and the one I purchased is almost good as new. |
Question: Dual sport or sportbike? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 09:37 PM PDT Dual-Sports are not really like sportbikes at all. 8^) I guess you knew that. Dual-sports are simple, sturdy, relatively light bikes and lots of people pick them to learn on. The only problem is they tend to be tall because of longer suspension travel, so you have to have long enough legs. You want to be able to sit on a bike with both feet flat on the ground. As for sport bikes, there are -real- sport bikes and there are 'sporty' bikes. Real sport bikes, like GSX-R and R6, are not for beginners. It's no about their size or weight, it's not 'too much' power, it's just the kind of bike they are. They're not easy to ride, not good to learn on, not forgiving for beginners. But there is a more moderate class of 'sporty' bikes, i.e. standards or 'sport tourers'. They are general purpose bikes, meant for all-around riding, and much easier to ride. They're not as powerful as real sport bikes but they have plenty of power! In fact even the dual sports have more power than you'd think! |
