| Question: How was your first time driving ALONE? Posted: 14 Aug 2015 02:34 PM PDT I went out straight after I passed my test, drove around town about 50 times, ran out of petrol and then couldn't drive for another three days since I'd spent my last paycheck on the test and couldn't fill up!. You need to be confident in your abilities and parking is a pretty essential skill. Get in your car, drive to a car park and practice parking until you have it down. |
| Question: Taking my drivers road test tomorrow , questions? Posted: 14 Aug 2015 12:13 AM PDT Okay, I am fairly certain of all aspects except two, I would like to know what I am supposed to do when ..: A: there are a gazillion uncontrolled intersections in my town (within the neighborhood bit) whilst driving down a street with a bunch of these, I know to look both ways every time I come to a uncontrolled intersection..but am I supposed to slightly brake when coming to them and looking, or just keep my foot on the brake pedal but not press it? 2: Say I get to a regular intersection (with stop lights) and want to turn right on red, am I supposed to veer into the shoulder with my right blinker on before I turn right or am I supposed to stay in the right lane of the road? I also see people at these red lights on the right lane and people behind them swerving to get to the shoulder bit next to them cause they are preparing to turn right...is that correct? 3: I am having slight issues with parallel parking. I can get into the spot, but my front right tire ends up a foot from the curb and the back right tire is like..2 ft from it, would they automatically fail me for that? |

| Question: Why do you have to wear a seatbelt in a car but not on a bus? Posted: 13 Aug 2015 04:59 AM PDT The right answer is, hold the handrail, steady yourself. If you have a problem doing so, tell the bus driver. They can arrange for the best and safest seating for the passengers aboard, or arrange for you to take another bus.

| Question: Is it wrong to go through the orange light if someone is waiting to turn left? Posted: 12 Aug 2015 11:47 PM PDT If you can't stop safely on a yellow, you should proceed through before the light turns red, just as you did. The other driver made the mistake of pulling into the intersection without being able to proceed all the way through without stopping, which is a violation. That is why he was under pressure and honking. His own mistake. He should have waited behind the stop line so that when the light turned red, he would still be in a safe position. |
