| Question: [Car Audio] Can you connect two car amplifiers together to produce more power? Posted: 15 Aug 2015 03:03 AM PDT I have a pioneer audio system in my car, in the trunk i have Pioneer TS-W309 Single coil 300W RMS subwoofer link: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archi... , and Pioneer A3602 amplifier link: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/C... Im not quite happy with the system, since i know that the amplifier is weak, the subwoofer can handle much more power, now i was thinking, since my budget is limited i have like about $100. but i found the same amplifier on discount for about $50. If i buy it, will it be able to connect with the current amplifier so the subwoofer runs on two amplifiers so it can produce more power or its not possible? if this is doable, i will save some cash, else i need to buy new stronger amplifier, which i dont have the money at the moment... what do you say? i know these things dont go with limited cash, car audio is expensive but... |

| Posted: 14 Aug 2015 11:40 PM PDT Peak power is meaningless. The RMS power is what matters. A mono amp can also be used to run multiple subs as well. Ideally for a subwoofer, you would want a mono amp. Choosing the correct amplifier for your sub is a must. There are several types of car amplifiers. There are monoblocks, 2 channels, 3 channels, 4 channels, 5 channels, etc. The 2 - 5 channel amps are for the mids and highs. It can also be used to run a subwoofer. A monoblock amp should NEVER be used to run a pair of mids and highs. One good 12" sub in the proper enclosure will be loud enough to satisfy anybody that's not a bass head. If you're a bass head and want something bigger and louder, go with a single 15" sub. When it comes to adding a subwoofer in your car, the enclosure will play a big role in sound quality. The enclosure and installation is the most important factor. To get the most output, the enclosure needs to be properly optimize for the type of sub you have. |
