The 500 can do 120 mph, the R1 can do 160 -- but if they don't go more than over 10 over the speed limits a Ninette can keep up with them just fine.</p><p>You are looking at "crotch rocket" -- aka sporty bike, hence the suggested Ninjette.<br/>I cheat. I don't follow their rules. Unless they are racing you can beat them and let the catching up to you, and if a 500 and an R1 are playing together, they are not flat out racing. May I suggest changing the rules? Look at a Suzuki LS650 Savage(old)/S40(new, same bike different years.) It is light, just a few pounds more than a Ninja 250, a few more than a Ninja 300 abs. It can "only" do 85 mph, but is fast enough to break speed limits. But it is a Thumper. When the traffic signal goes green you will leave them behind.
