Question: Hit a car in a parking lot, what can happen? Posted: 24 Aug 2015 09:26 PM PDT When pulling out of my school s parking lot, I accidentally hit a car. I parked and waited by the car as the owner ran up to it. He said it was alright and didn t ask for my name, or anything. There are scratches on both of our cars and I may have left a very small dent. I couldn t tell because I was panicking. Anyway, he said it was fine and left. He didn t ask for any info and I said I will help him pay to fix the scratches and if there s a dent. He said he will talk to me about it tomorrow if he needs to. It s just weird because we don t even know each other s names. Can I get in trouble for not giving him my information? Do I have to go through my insurance to help him pay for damage or can I just give him money? The damage is not bad on either of our cars. I m just really scared. |

Question: Using fog lights in flash floods? Posted: 24 Aug 2015 06:35 AM PDT Yesterday I was driving and we suddenly had one of those flash flood downpours in the UK, it was absolutely intense and I couldn't see anything, I put my wipers on full speed and could only barely make out the guys headlights in front of me, road signs and everything else were just totally invisible until the last minute and I was only doing about 20-30mph on a 60mph road (the driver in front was doing exactly the same). I then put my rear fog lights on 'cos I realised at this speed if anyone comes up they can't see me and I can't see them and they're going to go right in the back of me. I know the highway code states that you should only use fog lights if visible drops below 100m - this rain was so thick you couldn't even see 10m never mind 100m but it wasn't foggy though. The minute I got through the flash flood section I turned my fog lights off, but it has always confused me though as it's not fog, it's rain, but then fog is actually rain anyway. Was I right to use my fog lights, because visibility had dropped so low, or was I at risk of being pulled by the police because it wasn't actually foggy, it was just raining very hard with no visibility. |
