Are all 12v marine starter solenoids the same?

Just wondering if there's a difference between 12v starter solenoids. I understand there can be a difference between automotive and marine solenoids, but unfortunately, my mercury outboard is too old, and the solenoid is obsolete, and I can't find a new one. However, I see listings for new starter solenoids with different hp ratings. What would be the difference between a 40hp marine solenoid vs a 50hp marine solenoid if they're both 12v? I understand how solenoids and relays work, but didn't know if there's a difference for 12v marine solenoids. I'd like to save money and just buy one that'll work. The mounting brackets don't matter, since I work at a machine shop and can make one to fit whichever out of aluminum or SS. Anyone have any answers or suggestions to something cheap that will work for my old mercury 50hp?
