Question: Pros and cons of leasing a car? Posted: 20 Oct 2015 06:48 PM PDT Pros: (a) Typically a lower down payment and monthly fee. (b) Easier to finance since you only finance the portion of the car to cover the lease term rather than the entire cost. (c) You're always driving a new car. Cons: (a) Low mileage allotments. You can only typically drive 10,000-12,000 miles per year, far less than most people drive. (b) You don't ever own anything, when the lease term is over you have nothing to show for your money. (c) No customization or window tinting. (d) In the end, more expensive with over-mileage and other fees for minuscule damage to the interior/exterior. |

Question: Lexus with 60,000 miles still ok to buy? Posted: 20 Oct 2015 06:21 PM PDT Looking around for a new car to replace my 2008 Subaru. Budget is around $26-28k. I want a car that is reliable and high quality(not like my current Subaru that has a bunch of broken trim pieces). Don't mind higher maintenance costs. I saw a few Lexus RX350s with 50-60k miles for my price range. 2010-2012 models. Is 60k miles too much for a good Lexus? I know Lexuses are super reliable but I don't want to buy another car that needs minor cosmetic repairs and stuff. My other option is to go bland and get a new Camry XLE or RAV4. |
Posted: 20 Oct 2015 06:20 PM PDT 127,000 miles or is that a typo? Toyota covers the battery from factory with a 10 year/150k mile warranty(I believe. I think that's what I saw last time I looked in the owners manual for my dads car). It is transferable, so you are still covered under manufacture warranty. But that is, only if the battery went bad due to not maintaining. If the car has been maintained, it will be a great reliable car. My dads Toyota Prius has 75,000 miles and not a single issue with the engine/battery. Drives perfectly fine though the struts are starting to need replacement from wear. 127k is high for any car. Unless you're getting a good price AND it's well maintained DO NOT BUY IT especially if you are financing. The dealer will tell you anything he can to make the sale. He won't give a single sh*t about keeping you on the road if you pay. Whatever that even means. |
