Posted: 31 Oct 2015 07:03 AM PDT You think that insurance should pay to fix things that broke because you were too lazy to prevent them from breaking, or to fix things that wear out? In your way of thinking, all Insurance is a scam, so is leasing or buying a car on credit, credit cards, extended warranties. So is buying a phone TV, music player, clothing, shoes, purses, just because the newest one came out, instead of providing upgrades for the old ones. So is medicare and social security, but people need or want them, so we continue to support those services, instead of handling these things on our own, after we have saved the money to deal with them. What would happen if you didn't have insurance, and harmed someone, and broke their car in an accident? You would work for the rest of your life to pay for their injuries. Many more people would be lawyers, but fewer people would get cases settled in any reasonable amount of time, and jails would be full of people that couldn't pay for the damages they caused. You don't understand how society works, never mind how business or insurance works. You need some education, and look into how things used to be, before insurance and why it is needed, and why it is usually required to drive a dangerous machine around. |

| Question: Can my car get towed while parked in the street before tags expire? Posted: 30 Oct 2015 11:43 PM PDT You forgot to say why the vehicle was towed, genius. LA County doesn't just tow vehicles at random, and they don't do it as a reminder that your tags expire soon. So why did they order your vehicle towed to the impound lot? They'll tell you if you ask them. Unpaid tickets, parked in a tow-away zone (like in front of a hydrant or blocking a pedestrian walk), unsafe vehicle... the list of possible reasons goes on forever. Nobody here can tell you if you were towed illegally based on the info you provided, so ask whoever ordered the tow. Whenever anyone has their car towed, their first reaction is to look for excuses. It was a mistake, it was illegal, it must have been something the previous owner of the tags did, etc. But law and enforcement officers don't care about excuses, because they hear them all day long. You need to find out exactly why your car was towed, and I promise you it wasn't because you had valid tags, and then you can question the legality of it. |

Tell the clinic that you need a copy of the report, and you need it now. Then take a copy of the report for your own records, and bring the original copy to the FLHSMV in person. Get written confirmation that you gave it to them. Or you can just sit there and whine about it. Your choice. |
