Question: Unfair test results on my dmv drivers test? Posted: 23 Mar 2015 09:46 PM PDT I would like to point out that I'm a fair distance away from a perfect driver but I feel I'm good enough to pass my drivers test. I got 3 huge chunks off on my test and both were complete bullcrap. Either lack from my examiner paying good enough attention or this need of a pass rate having to be around 45% so the flow of drivers out there isn't too populated (which I looked up) so no one's job at the dmv being at risk. 1 of the 3 chunks off on my test was a green light on a left turn that turned yellow a few seconds after first turning green and I think my examiner missed that and marked me off for not stopping at a "yellow when safe". When I clearly was in the middle of the intersection when it turned yellow. The 2nd chunk marked off was checking my blind spot before getting off the side of the road after a parallel park when I clearly looked over my shoulder to check my blindspot. The final chunk off was just stopping past the stop line which I clearly recall staying behind all stop lines. 1 less point wrong and i wouldnt have failed!!! Do any of you think I was failed based on what I mentioned towards the beginning. Thanks for reading. |

Question: If you have been driving for more than 15 years does it become as easy as walking? Posted: 23 Mar 2015 07:40 PM PDT Yes, trying anything new is going to seem hard if you've never done it. For me, I was driving a truck and trailer in the rain the day I got my permit, but before I had driven cars, go carts, boats, so I was used to driving things. For example, I've never had a job before, my first job I was scared of the first day, but as more and more shifts went by, it got easier. Just take it slow at first, pay attention to what your parents do when they drive, like when they stop and why they stopped. My tip, practice in an empty parking lot, practice accelerating, braking and parking. Also practice being easy with the gas, I personally drive with my right shoe off so I can feel the pedal, therefore I don't hit the gas too hard. |

Question: If I wear a helmet during a car accident will my chance of survival go up? Posted: 23 Mar 2015 06:02 PM PDT Bottom line, No, the helmet will not improve your odds. Long answer: start with Risk Compensation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risk_compen... If you want to survive, you want to be afraid. Fear keeps you safe. |
