Question: Problem starting 04 Subaru STI. Sometimes it will not start up right away? Posted: 25 Mar 2015 04:21 PM PDT 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. The passed few weeks i've been having an issue starting up the engine. Somedays I will come outside and she will start right up with no problem. Ill take my car out to go somewhere and park. Later that day I come back to my car to leave...and it won't start. Although, the battery will turn on along with everything with it (windows, radio, AC, etc.). I also hear a click when I try to start the engine. So I wiggle the positive and negative battery wires a little (sometimes it takes more than one try) and then eventually it just starts up. So at first I thought it was a corroded battery terminal, so I changed that. The issue is still happening. I had my battery tested (battery is only a few months old) and the battery is perfectly fine. The starter is also brand new, but I had that tested as well and that seems to be fine also. Alternator was also checked and is fine. I'm lost and cannot figure this issue out. It clearly must be something electrically wrong going on in the car but I cannot find the issue. It just blows my mind that one day she starts right up, and the next it won't start at all. Anyone have the same or similar issue before? Or know what the problem could be? Thanks in advance. ![]() |

Question: Does cars put toxins in the air? Posted: 25 Mar 2015 03:56 PM PDT Yes. Motor vehicle emissions contribute to air pollution and are a major ingredient in the creation of smog in some large cities. A 2013 study by MIT indicates that 53,000 early deaths occur per year in the United States alone because of vehicle emissions. According to another study from the same university, traffic fumes alone cause the death of 5000 people every year just in the United Kingdom. A relatively small part of combustion from car engines that use gasoline as fuel is undesirable noxious or toxic substances, such as carbon monoxide (CO) from incomplete combustion, hydrocarbons (properly indicated as CxHy, but typically shown simply as "HC" on emissions-test slips) from unburnt fuel, nitrogen oxides (NOx) from excessive combustion temperatures, ozone (O3), and particulate matter (mostly soot). ![]() |
