Question: How to not be scared of driving by myself? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 05:34 PM PDT So I'll be driving my Mon to her workplace today since I have an interview after. I really never drove the car by myself and I'm kinda scared. How do I not feel scared? Usually its the highway that freaks me out the most and also tight traffic. How do you guys drive by yourself? I know I just have to get used to it but I just recently got my license
Question: Are European cities going car-free? I hear that Hamburg, Madrid, and others are.? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 12:53 PM PDT Many Cities are planing for Pedestrian areas in their centres. They will be car FREE roads here and there. NO There are NO cities that are going Car Free for the entire City. Many places are adding things like tolls to discourage car use. Making things like bike lanes to make it easier to go by bike.Changing some lanes of roads to bus only. In many cities car ownership is not very high.per person. In older cities the roads are small and there is little room for parking. While it appears to have many cars most of the people use other means to travel for their day to day things. The Chinese try many things. They have a huge population to deal with. There is not enough space for roads for everyone to have a car. NEW places are being planned that have less need for a car. More dense with public transit planned into the area. You may be concerned about the use of the word CITY this is an area about 2 square kilometres or a mile on each side. It is a 'New" town/city build around a train station. 320 acres is half of a square mile About the size of Disneyland if that helps. It is a car free area and millions seem to get around quite easily inside the park. http://architizer.com/blog/great-city-to... It will be very dense with many tall buildings. It is not a place that has individual houses and yards. It is apartments and Office towers. Look at Curitiba in South America. A city that is transforming with the addition of large Public transit and the closing of some roads to cars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curitiba#Ur... It started this plan in the the 1960s Today, Curitiba is considered one of the world's best examples of urban planning. In June 1996, the chairman of the Habitat II summit of mayors and urban planners in Istanbul praised Curitiba as "the most innovative city in the country The transit service is used by more than 2 million people a day. Curitiba has more car owners per capita than anywhere else in Brazil. The population has doubled since 1974, yet auto traffic declined by 30%, and atmospheric pollution is the lowest in Brazil. Not Car Free but Car REDUCED

Question: Who's fault would it be? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 09:16 AM PDT That you had a green arrow means you can turn if it is safe to do so. The the other was backing up they have to watch behind them. NOW what did you do to avoid the accident. You both contributed to the accident. The fault is BOTH of yours. Your description is not clear. If you turned you are now on a different road. The other driver may have had a clear road until you TURNED on to it. The traffic light does not say the road is clear ahead just drive without paying attention. Now if it was a Child just standing there holding his toy would you just drive over them too for not being in a crosswalk? They are in the wrong?
