Question: Jeep dealer removed my hitch? Posted: 27 Mar 2015 11:38 PM PDT Yes, if it's a factory hitch, or one they have fitted, then they need to replace it. BUT, if there has been a major recall, involving 1,000s of hitches, it's possible they are waiting on parts. They may have removed yours if they thought it was unsafe. If the hitch breaks and someone gets killed, they get sued. So they may have chosen to remove the suspect hitches, which avoids that problem. Anyway, call back and ask to talk to the Service Manager. He will either know what's going on, or be able to find out. If he says, "Yeah, we are expecting those in next week, and will call you when they arrive to book the car in". Then it's fine. If you get the run around, then start making a fuss. |
