Question: Bring Modular Passenger compartments, Dammit !!!? Posted: 24 Mar 2015 07:24 PM PDT Why don't passenger jet or passenger ferry manufacturers make their passenger compartments detachable? For instance, obviously you cannot give chutes to every passengers but you could make passenger parts into three or four each chute-able sections and viola! When there is emergency and plane is heading towards the ground sections start to loosen up and escape the falling plane. The same principle in case of those idiotic-instantly-listing ferries (i.e. Sewol ferry). In most ferry passengers ride in the upper decks. Make each outer sides of these ferries into detaching and floating compartments. Depending on the listing side of the ferry, people can cramp up into one and detach from the ferry before it starts to sink. If they can parachute a damn tank from sky or send a nuked submarine tube under oceans why can't they come up with simple solutions for passengers? |

Posted: 24 Mar 2015 05:17 PM PDT "Fire!" Only way to get idiots to listen. Blathering on about stability or baggywrinkles to a load of passengers looking at a jellyfish isn't going to cut it. A racing crew that knows what it's doing, I don't know. "Two more on the port rail" maybe. |
Posted: 24 Mar 2015 03:07 PM PDT The bayliners of the 80s and early 90s had a bad reputation for poor quality, and poor customer support. In 1986, the company was taken over by Brunswick, the parent company of Mercury Marine. It took Brunswick about 8 years to bring Bayliner out of the basement, and back to being a competitive, quality boatbuilder. Newer Bayliners are a great entry level boat, not many bells and whistles, but a nicely built and finished hull. You may want to use NADA guide to help evaluate the prices of used boats: |
