Question: Whats the best way to hook up 2 single 4 ohm subs to a bridged 4 ohm stable amp? Posted: 29 Mar 2015 12:06 AM PDT If the amp is bridged, then you only have two options: wire the subs in series or wire them in parallel. And because parallel wiring will give you a 2-ohm load, and the bridged amplifier isn't stable with a load under 4 ohms, the only safe option is to wire the subs in series for an 8-ohm load. Actually, the best way to use two 4-ohm subs with this amp is to just connect one sub to each channel, instead of bridging the amplifier. You'll get the same power output as bridging the amp to the subs wired in series, and the wiring is simpler. |

Question: My Subwoofer bangs when the car is started.? Posted: 28 Mar 2015 08:21 PM PDT Because your local car audio shop are unprofessional installers. They gave you a poor quality amplifier. Boss is garbage. You need to invest your money into a good amplifier. |
Question: Question on subwoofers? Posted: 28 Mar 2015 08:07 PM PDT yes, but the 4's will get 300w each, the 2 will get 600. You can turn the amp way down to try to keep the 2 ohm RF at a safe level of power. That will in turn reduce the power to the 4's. Another thing to consider -- having that 3rd sub in there will probably cause more harm than good. There will be some degree of cancellation working with dissimilar subs, and the increase in output, if there is any, certainly wouldn't be considerate. More is not always better. |
