Question: Why myrear door speakers are not working? Posted: 23 Sep 2016 09:08 AM PDT As was said earlier, that is grease that is supposed to be there to help the connectors. Probably you have an issue with the actual speaker and they need to be replaced. You can check this easily if you have another radio, another speaker, or an ohm meter/multimeter. If you have a speaker you know is working, attach it temporarily to the wires from the door. Do you have sound? If not, there is an issue with the radio. Have you checked the settings on the head unit (balance and fader)? If you do get sound, your speakers are messed up. If you have a radio with speaker outputs, attach your speaker from the car to it (you might be able to go to a car stereo store and ask if they will test the speakers after you remove them from the car). Do you have sound? If so, your speakers work fine. If not, your speakers are blown and need to be replaced. If you have an ohm meter/multimeter you can attach the probe wires to the connector and read the resistance. Typically car speakers are 2-4 ohm. Anything higher than that the speaker is blown, more than likely it will read as infinite resistance, or there is no longer a connection somewhere internally in the speaker coil. |
