Cars & Transportation: Motorcycles: “Question: Prices for mule drawn hay rake?” plus 5 more

Question: Prices for mule drawn hay rake?

There's no standard pricing guides for that.

It'll depend upon the size and condition of the machine, demand for one (usually very low to non-existent in developed countries), where in the world you live and the time of year as prices will be higher when the machine is needed.

But mostly the price will depend upon how much someone offers when the machine is offered for sale. As demand is so low don't be surprised if it's valued for its weigh-in value for scrap metal alone, after deducting any transportation and dismantling charges to remove any parts which need to be discarded as being worthless (wooden/leather/rubber parts) or which need weighing separately (non-ferrous metals).

Question: What's a good motorcycle to start riding on?

If you're new to bikes, do yourself a favour and star with something not too big - I'd say 600 is already too much for a beginner, you'll just kill yourself on it. Also, don't buy brand new, that's an expensive buy in any case, and as a new rider you'll inevitably drop the bike a few times in the first year or two, and it will hurt you a lot less to put a scrape on a bike that already has one or two, than to put the first one on previously mint bike. For the same reason don't go for a fully-faired bike, one of those semi-faired ones is much easier to live with.

Something like the Honda CB is a pretty good all-rounder.

Or if you do want a brand new bike, then the new BMW G 310 R looks like an interesting one, as well as being just about the only small bike from that quality marque.

Question: How often do you ride?

I have a Korean Honda 125 Clone ( DR 125) for around town.

I also have a recently restored 1968 BSA 441 Shooting Star that I only ride on perfect days.

Question: I have a custom built chopper, it has no speedometer. Suggestions on what to use?

You seem to have a mainland Chinese style excersize, not a actual 'chopper' made from a actual motorcycle that you could disclose basis of. A Honda 4 with basic Honda front wheel-even without brake would have the speedometer drive hub and a simple dual sport removable speedometer kit would work- $99.95 from Honda dealer. A bit more for a Harley cable and speedo with drive from the transmission- but available over counter. Limey based with rear wheel drive for cable? So get the old drive and cable, speedo unit from the classic parts dealer. Do you have a tachometer? then just have someone pace you at 30mph, 50 mph ,75 mph and note the RPM and gears, tape a note in plastic cover to handlebars or gas tank until you memorize the RPM/speed ratio. IF you 'Chopper' is a Harbor Freight engine in Pep Boys frame, then might be harder to find a speedo drive--might have to get a friction drive bicycle kit or a magnetic sensor kit, put small magnetic on front or back wheel rim and pickup sensor on frame or fork tube with a 1/8 inch gap for pickup, count of wheel turn- then set speedo to so many turns at circumference = speed. as for losing phone--Duct Tape and zip ties are common rat bike features. SO, WHAT KIND OF 'CHOPPER"? What did engine start out as? Front end, front wheel? I remember a Panhead engine based hard tail with springer- front wheel was from Honda Trail 90 or whatever the leading link front end utility was called and that gave a legal front brake and a speedometer, headlight taken from the Honda 90 frame, passed inspection Illinois. Honda 750 front ends with disc brakes also had speedo drives- that got a couple other choppers with equipment tickets through inspection.
