Question: Is it worth it to get extra insurance on rental car? Posted: 29 Sep 2016 09:28 AM PDT Extra? Meaning the normal insurance doesn't cover the car? I just use my credit card which covers me for any event. Don't even need to pay the renter's insurance scam. |
Question: How do I get affordable car insurance with bad credit and not having any for a long time? Posted: 29 Sep 2016 09:18 AM PDT My car died. I have a little bit of cash for a used car that I can buy outright, but I was just told that before I get the title I need to show proof of insurance. The problem is: I can't really afford it. Almost all the plans I've looked at have me in a high risk category. Some have refused to insure me. And for the ones who have, I'm looking at $300/month - and that is for PLPD. I need a car or else I will lose my job. And I have a family to support. I'm not sure what my options are (if any). Here are a few details about me: Michigan is a no-fault car insurance state. So our insurance is high anyway. And the public transit is awful. My job is a 30-minute drive without any direct bus routes. Taxis and Uber are expensive to do it a couple times a day. Is there a way to get a car without having to show proof of insurance? If not, what is the cheapest insurance I can get? I have already heard from people (like my parents) that I put myself here. So please don't tell me that - I get that I don't deserve sympathy. I'm looking for a way I can get a car and not lose my job. Thank you. |
