Question: Can i legally make this turn (double solid yellow lines)? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 11:19 AM PDT The solid double line indicates a "no passing" or "do not overtake" zone. In Illinois, you are not allowed to cross that double line to pass another vehicle. But you are allowed to cross it in order to safely pass pedestrians or bicyclists, to avoid an obstruction in the road, or to make a left turn unless it is otherwise stated by local road signs. It's that last one (a left turn) that you want to do. But you want the most accurate answer? Find the nearest Rochelle police officer or Illinois state trooper and ask them. I'm sure they would be glad to clarify for you. |

Question: I almost got hit by a car yesterday, is it my fault or the drivers? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 10:28 AM PDT Okay, so i was walking across the road (because my bus was stopped across the street). I looked left like i always do, because naturally cars would be stuck behind the bus. I start to walk when i look to my right to see a white car going ridiculously fast, not to mention that the person was driving on the WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD. I just barely walk past it, and get an earful from my bus driver. Even though she already gave me the signal to go. So is it REALLY my fault? That guy was on the wrong side of the road to begin with. And i never expected anyone was stupid enough to do that. |

Question: Is a CROWN victoria a reliable car in terms of breaking down and repairs? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 03:01 AM PDT I have been told that all cars if maintained properly will last reliably for a long time. TOTAL NONSENSE!!!! All our japanese cars over the past 35 almost never broke down and had few repairs that were considered major. We only changed the oil and they lasted well over 200,000 miles. One was a nissan sentra back in 1989. Another was a Datsun even before that. Then a honda civic that went 300,000 miles. Then a Toyota tercel that was mine and 2 toyota camry's and one toyota corolla. On the other hand our brand new ford taurus broke down at 30,000 miles with excellent maintenance. So did my chevy cavalier which i left in sun valley after reaking down for the 8th time. I also owned a ford windstar for a year that broke down several times with each repair averaging over 500 bucks. So i ask you is there something aout the crown vic that makes it more reliable? I know police forces use it. I also know the V8 engine gives it alot of power. But will a crown vic with a 100,000 miles be relatively problem free? |
