Question: Why do you think cars have speedometers instead of velocity meters? Posted: 30 Sep 2016 09:01 AM PDT Because speed and velocity are not the same. Velocity is defined by speed and direction. Speed is merely distance over time; cars go around corners, even on straight roads the bumps in the surface cause them to pitch up and down, and they must also constantly follow the curvature of the Earth. Many things are said to have velocity such as bullets but even they obey gravity and so really have speed not velocity, but that's nit-picking for everyday purposes of description. |

Question: Can truck drivers make good spouses? Are they all non trustworthy? Posted: 30 Sep 2016 03:48 AM PDT They can make as good or as bad a spouse as any other profession. Whether or not you're a good doesn't have anything to do with what you do for a living. It has to do with the kind of person you are. Not all truckers are long haul or OTR where they are away for weeks on end, those that are while they likely have opportunities to cheat... so does their spouse. My dad was a trucker for 30+ years and didn't cheat but he did local in-state routes, he liked being home everyday. I have a 4 uncles who are truckers and all have been married 30+ years. I have a cousin who is a long-haul/OTR trucker and since their kids are grown his wife goes with him a lot and she rather enjoys it. I do know clergy & teachers who have been the cheating spouse so don't put anyone on a pedestal or come to assumptions that they will or wont cheat based on their profession. |
