Question: Can I rev my kia optima it has a turbo? Is it safe? Posted: 30 Sep 2016 05:22 PM PDT Your engine likely has a rev limiter to stop it from over rev'ing, as long as you do not down shift at too high of a speed with a manual shift. For example my past and current cars with manual shift I think have a red line about 6600 rpm or so and if either gets up to 7000 rpm they simply do not go any faster. My current summer car is a MazdaSpeed3 turbo 6-speed manual. And if you have an automatic transmission, that probably will not let you over rev it when it gear (it would either up shift or not down shift even if using a manual mode). |

Question: My car flickers when turning the engine? Posted: 30 Sep 2016 04:45 PM PDT When I turn the engine, the lights flicker for a moment as if the battery is out. There's a moment where I think, this is it, the engines not coming on... But it turns on. I drove around for a while to get it charged up, then turned it off. Then I waited a minute or to, turned the engine on, and it didn't flicker when it came back on. But if it's been several hours, it flickers again Could it be something other than the battery? I have not yet had to jump the car, and I'm hopefully going to have it handled tomorrow It's a 2011 Golf if that helps |

Posted: 30 Sep 2016 03:41 PM PDT Good lord, Josh, you are sounding more and more like an idiot with every post. Did you have your battery tested? That would be the first logical approach, don't you think? Any auto parts store will gladly do so for your for free. |
Posted: 30 Sep 2016 03:30 PM PDT Could also mean brakefluid level is at the minimum and when the fluid shifts under braking (because laws of motion) the level sensor illuminates the light. Or it could mean ABS is functioning normally. Either way, you could find this answer in your cars owner manual. |
