You could get to be the B747 Fleet Captain at Air India, but, if you then went to Emirates, you would be right back to the bottom of their Seniority List, flying as a Second Officer on their least desirable routes.

That is the way it works. You would certainly have a good chance of being hired by Emirates, based on your experience, but the question would be ''hired as what'', it certainly would not be as what you would want to be!
