| Question: Can I get my Pilot's license if I was once on an ADHD prescription? Posted: 19 Sep 2016 03:02 AM PDT Hey guys! After I graduate, I very desperately want to begin flight school so I can start to pursue my dream/career in flying airplanes. But I have a slight dilemma... Alright hypothetically, If I were to be diagnosed with ADHD and given prescribed medication in my junior year of high school, I would to have use the meds to help me focus on my classes, because I would need them through the rest of my junior year, and then all of my senior year until I graduate (year and a half) . Then after graduation, I will permanently discontinue the medication. Then a couple months/years later I'll go to test for my pilot license. *Will they even let me do that considering the drugs?* Do you know if the FAA would deny me my pilot's license because of the ADHD medication that I stopped taking while I was a kid? Or are they more so concerned about recent activity? Lastly, if currently on meds, can you stop taking them for a month or so to pass the test? Any kind of information is extremely appreciated! Thank you for reading and for your helpful advise! |

| Question: Most famous radial engine? Posted: 18 Sep 2016 01:27 PM PDT That R-2800 was the most famous, powering the DC-6 and CV-340/440 - The R-2800 was very reliable too - Other famous engines were the R-3350 and the R-4360 - When I was a young airline pilot, many of my captains were ex.DC-6 or DC-7 captains - He told me "when one is landing with a feathered engine, it has to be a DC-7" (R-3350) - |
