Question: Does anyone know about Mitsubishi Galant ? Posted: 28 Sep 2016 03:00 PM PDT It's 15 years old and you've given no information at all about the total mileage and service history. That means there's a long list of possible different causes. But the prime suspect would be a lack of maintenance. Transmission fluid and the tranny filter must be replaced periodically or after a certain mileage. On a car of that age, every three years or 36000 miles would be a typical interval. If overdue for a change then further diagnosis is a waste of time as you need to eliminate the most obvious potential causes before moving on to others. Ask better questions, get better answers. |

Posted: 28 Sep 2016 02:16 PM PDT If the breakdown was directly a result of the faulty ignition switch, then it seems reasonable that Honda will pay your associated costs. In the first instance you should ask the dealership to put the request to Honda USA, and if that doesn't get you the results you need you should take it up with Honda USA yourself. As long as your claim is reasonable (i.e. the costs are in line with normal towing costs and your gas mileage), and the breakdown is a result of the faulty ignition switch, then they should pay up. If the car is less than 3 years old or within warranty, don't you have breakdown cover provided with the car? In the UK, all Hondas have breakdown assistance provided during the warranty period. Good luck with your claim! Also, it might help your claim if you hint (needn't be true, just don't tell any direct lies) that you intend trading up with your dealership in the near future. Just don't commit to anything. |
