Question: Are built in navigation systems better than a GPS? Posted: 29 Sep 2016 11:21 AM PDT From what I have seen (have them in two cars) they are basically a waste of money after a couple of years, you have to pay for sat radio to get navteq (300usd/per yr), you have to pay a couple hundred to update the maps. If new UI technology or features come out the built ins can not be retro-fitted. You can't move them between cars. You can buy a garmin with free updates and navteq for well below 200 usd). Seems like a no-brainer to me. |
