Question: Are built in navigation systems better than a GPS? Posted: 29 Sep 2016 11:21 AM PDT From what I have seen (have them in two cars) they are basically a waste of money after a couple of years, you have to pay for sat radio to get navteq (300usd/per yr), you have to pay a couple hundred to update the maps. If new UI technology or features come out the built ins can not be retro-fitted. You can't move them between cars. You can buy a garmin with free updates and navteq for well below 200 usd). Seems like a no-brainer to me. |

Question: I was wondering if the VA practice permit test is anything like the real one? Posted: 29 Sep 2016 10:01 AM PDT I take my permit test in a few hours and I was wondering if the practice one online is anything like the real one or has the same type of questions. I'm just wondering so I know I haven't been studying stuff that isn't going to be on the test. I also have the handbook. Here's the link to the tests I've been taking http://www.dmv-written-test.com/virginia/practice-test-1.html?gclid=CPb88oiGtc8CFcdlfgodWoYB_g ![]() |
Question: Can I ride a horse down the road and on the freeway? Posted: 29 Sep 2016 09:43 AM PDT I'm in Texas, and all of the freeways that I've seen have signs posted stating that unmotorized vehicles are prohibited on the freeway. The signs list as examples skateboards, bicycles, and pedestrians (which I'll point out that human beings used their feet as transportation long before using horses.). While the signs I've seen do not specifically mention horses, I do believe that a horse falls under the category of "unmotorized vehicle". These laws may or may not apply to you, depending on your jurisdiction. Regardless, I would not try riding a horse on the freeway, especially at night. A CDL licensed driver will probably think that he just ran over a patch of uneven road, never knowing that he just made roadkill out of a horse and rider. ![]() |
