Question: How can i rent or lease a car for about a month or two at 18 years old? Posted: 25 Sep 2016 07:32 PM PDT No income, no credit, no chance. Plus, no one leases cars for such short periods of time. You could rent a car for such a time period. Or, buy a used car, and then sell it once you're done with it. |

Question: Can i trade a car i barely started financed? Posted: 25 Sep 2016 04:26 PM PDT Might be easier to get used to what you have. Weather will be cooling down soon. If you paid $12,000 for a car retail, you might get $9000-9500 for it on trade. So you would take a big loss and you might be unable without a large cash payment. |
Question: Is this particular car loan possible? If so how would I do it? Posted: 25 Sep 2016 02:21 PM PDT Its unlikely you will find a loan given the rebuilt title, the age and the mileage. Unless you just had fantastic credit and a prior paid off car loan. 99% of lenders are going to say NO. PS, the rebuilt title, even assuming it was rebuilt 100% correctly, lowers its value by 30-40% or more. And often times, they are not rebuilt 100% correctly. The rebuilders cut corners to save money. Sometimes its fine. Other times, its not. You cant tell by looking at it. Subprime lenders might lend for 9 year old cars with 110k miles but not with rebuilt titles and only from certain dealers who jack up their prices by 40-50%. I am not totally against rebuilt wrecks but people need to understand the downsides. When you go to trade it, you will be lucky to get 50% of wholesale. Ditto if you were to total it. Ive bought & resold a half dozen older rebuilt cars. It affects the value less on older cars but still affects it. A general rule of thumb that I used was I wanted at least a 20% discount even on a $2000 car. (And I only dealt in cheap cars) Disclosure when selling is a big concern as a dealer. So I made sure people knew upfront so there were no misunderstandings. Full disclosure is best if you want to avoid lawsuits and I did. |
