insurance. Start with the money, because without that, everything will go bad, ..fast Get your financing from the bank, (not the dealer) . Listen to them if they tell you that you can not afford it.<br/>Find the car you like and check its price compared to others of the same year and mileage. Tell them you are interested in the car, IF they can match the competition's price, and IF the car passes a mechanical inspection by your mechanic. Do not offer them any money and do not sign anything. Walk away. Check out how much the insurance will be. Check with a trusted mechanic when you could have the car inspected. Go back to the dealership in a day or two and ask them, if you can test drive it. Keep the radio off during the test drive and listen to everything. Make notes afterwards. Drive it far enough that you will know if it is going to overheat. Look for leaks under neath it. If it seems good, ask if you can take it to that trusted mechanic. If he things that it is OK, ask the dealership if they can make you a deal. I would expect the price to drop 10% pretty quick, and by 20 % if you are good at negotiating. Remember that you were asking them to match the competition's price. That is what they will aim for.
