Posted: 14 Apr 2015 11:19 PM PDT The sub is self-powered. I can't imagine JBL matching a high output sellf-powered subwoofer with an amp significantly less powerful than what would be ideal. JBL's specs indicate this sub is capable of well over 130db from 35 to 87hz. With a pair of them you should see SPL close to 140db. Enough to cause hearing loss with extended exposure. More than 3x as loud as OSHA's maximum continuous noise exposure level. Maybe you are expecting high quality full range sound? This is a subwoofer. Its output decreases significantly above 100hz. It seems to me you may want to schedule an appt with an audiologist. |
