The Mig-25 pilots were forbidden to exceed Mach 2.5, though the airframe was rated for Mach 2.8, and...</p><p>Above Mach 2.8 the engines would overheat and burn up. The Americans had clocked a Mig-25 over Israel at Mach 3.2 in 1973. Upon landing in Egypt, the engines were totally destroyed. We did not understand that the engine destruction was inevitable.</p><p>In comparison SR-71 has titanium in all the right places and can fly hi Mach for hours.</p></div><img are a few schools there - You could also see the schools in Burbank -<br/>I should also mention Santa Monica airport - where the reputable "American Flyers" school is -</p><p>To save some money, consider Santa Paula (to get your private pilot license) -<br/>You could also think of Camarillo - private, commercial and instrument training -<br/>You really should also get an instructor's license (for your first pilot job) -</p><p>As far as training, the private pilot license is about $10,000 training all inclusive -<br/>You could do that complete training in some 3 to 4 months of time
