I don't know what a reliable car like that might cost.<br/>Last car was a 2 door Hyundai Accent, slid on ice and wrecked it. Dog wasn't comfortable in back b/c there were no back windows, so she leaned forward to stick her head out the front windows and kept falling into the foot-well during turns and stops. Don't want her in the front getting on my lap and being disruptive.<br/>Looking for something that gets decent mileage. Don't need a lot of room for passengers or cargo. Will be mostly me & dog and sometimes a passenger.<br/>In the past my dad has helped me buy cars off Craigslist for under 3k. Has worked out okay. I'm kind of on my own this time and don't know anything about cars. I am open to maybe going to a dealership. Drive the car and listen for unusual engine noises (ticking or knocking), and feel the transmission shift and if its slipping or anything like that..</p><p>I suggest Honda, toyota, late model kia's, late model ford fusions. Also, seems that most of them choose white, black or silver. I went to a used car place today and found a car - 2000 Kia Sephia LS (black). It has 95,000 miles on it and they are asking $2995. I had a few concerns on it, the two biggest problems being a small oil leak and the fuel gauge is broken (it is always on empty). There are a few minor wear and tear things on the car that are expected in a cheap, used car that is 15 years old. The car place said that they would fix the problems for me before selling it. I don't know if I should get the car, and was wondering if anybody had any advice. Researching other cars, most with the same price have well over 100,000 miles. Also, if I find a car around the same price with the same miles but some issues, I don't know if other sellers would be willing to fix the issues before selling like this place is doing. Used car lenders often make me a bit skeptical, so I am not sure what to do. They seemed very nice and very willing to work with me (although any place would do that in order to make money). I tried looking up reviews online for the lender and only found a total of 3 reviews, all of which were positive. If you have any knowledge and advice on this car and whether you think this is a good deal, I would really appreciate your feedback.
