Posted: 10 Apr 2015 10:38 AM PDT Legal, yes. Safe? Probably not. And if you fire it up inside the city limits, you will probably be in violation of a few noise ordinances. If it were me, I'd fire the thing up the first time with the nozzle pointed up in the air so it does not try to leave terra firma. Also, I'd have it surrounded with sandbags, because - assuming this project gets far enough along for a test fire - I am predicting it will end in a rapid unscheduled disassembly. |

Question: If I have a curiosity about flying a plane, how can I try it out? Posted: 10 Apr 2015 08:05 AM PDT go to your local general aviation airport and go for a discovery/familiarization flight. you'll go for a flight with a flight instructor and have an opportunity to fly the plane yourself. i was utterly, totally and completely hooked after mine. i still remember when the instructor told me "see that bridge over there? fly us there. you have control." and for the first time in my life i was flying a real airplane. :-) |
