Question: What can I do to a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250r to give it more power? Posted: 13 Apr 2015 10:43 PM PDT I have heard of a few things you can do such as a bigger front sprocket to allow your RPM's to operate at a lower rate. But I would like to be able to add a few things to give it at least a little bit more horse power/speed. It barely goes 70 MPH' & that is in 5th gear with the throttle opened all the way up. I can't get on the interstate with that! I have to break the thing down anyway bc I keep finding metal shavings in my oil gauge. Any tips on what would most likely be the cause of the wear and tear on the inside of the engine would greatly be appreciated. |
Posted: 13 Apr 2015 09:23 PM PDT its a 600cc, high rpm inline four cylinder motorcycle. some 1000cc inline four cylinder riders will say "only 600cc," but those would be the only riders as twin cylinder and triple cylinder bikes can oft times have much more cc but not as much power or speed / acceleration. a Harley Sportster 1200, for example. sounds like it should have twice the power, right? but in all reality it has only 67hp while the ZX6R has 129 and delivers it differently the bike you mention OP is a fast, fun, lightweight supersport motorcycle. it is a great bike and if interested in the 600cc supersport class a great motorcycle to own and ride. yes, a "dream bike" for some. for others who have "moved up" to the 1000cc "superbike" class however....they often come from 600cc bikes and simply appreciate the easier power and gobs of torque a 1000cc bike provides. but it doesn't mean the 600cc class is less bike, not a fast bike, or not a racing bike. its just a different bike sort of bike from a bigger, heavier, and even faster 1000cc superbike. i guess you can say a superbike is "more bike." but that doesn't always mean better bike for many who appreciate what 600cc supersports have to offer. so for many riders, yes, the Ninja ZX6R and others like it are highly desirable bikes to own and ride |
